This reduces how much excavation is required and increases usability as the operator needn’t bend over, which greatly and positively impacts the health and safety aspect of each job as the operative is removed from the confined space, reducing potential exposure to gas escapes. The Top Tee Cutter can also be used within a core hole and at varying angles up to 20 degrees on 25mm - 63mm Top Tees.

The design solution must be user friendly and must be supported by PE Top Tee manufacturers to confirm that no excessive forces will be applied to the fittings or pipe during PE Top Tee Cutting operations.”

After careful designing and rigorous testing, Pipetech received the letter “we are pleased to advise you that having successfully completed all testing and product evaluation, the [Top Tee Cutter] has now been granted approval”.

REQUIREMENT
The existing design of Top Tee Cutter (Tee Bar) is not user friendly. It does not give good mechanical advantage and if a Top Tee is located close to the side of a trench, further excavation of the trench side is required to enable the tee Bar handle to be rotated and the top tee cut.
