The Talbot No.1 ½” to 1” under pressure drilling and tapping machine is hand operated for water pipes. The No.1 drills and taps ½”, ¾” and 1” BSP connections into dry or pressurised metallic mains, or via tapping straps into AC, PVC/PE or steel mains. The No.1 machine is a well proven and robust under-pressure drilling and tapping machine. For drilling and tapping of live (or dry) water mains, followed by the insertion of ferrules, plugs or mini-probe flow nipples in sizes ½”, ¾” or 1”. The machine can either drill directly into the main, or using a universal undercarriage, through a bossed saddle strap.
 
OPERATION
For drilling and tapping of live (or dry) water mains, followed by the insertion of ferrules, plugs or mini-probe flow nipples in sizes ½”, ¾” or 1”. The machine has two spindles, preloaded into a piston. Once the drilling & tapping operation is complete, the piston is rotated through 180° and the ferrule inserted into the main, all under-pressure.
